After much effort and planning, the Greek delegation managed to take part in this year’s Makamiada. The mission, which departed for Tel-Aviv on July 11, consisted of 18 athletes and 2 coaches, who competed in three events: basketball, table tennis, table tennis, basketball and table tennis. Two months before the start of the games, we started training with the aim of performing well in the games.
The competitive presence of our teams was decent, earning positive comments and respect in all its matches. In fact, the basketball team even achieved a victory over Mexico. And the highlight of the games was the parade in the packed Ramat-Gann stadium, the moment when all Greek Jews were represented. This experience is difficult to describe and will be forever etched in the memory of all those who made up the Greek delegation.
All this would not have been possible without the full support and assistance of the Council of the I.C.Th. Our Community has always been a supporter of the sporting activities of young people, which is particularly pleasing to our fellow believers and especially to us young people.
